Let Me Take You To the Egyptian Countryside
PJ Harvey said, “People have a tendency to see country life through rose-colored glasses. Country life offers so much beauty that people always tend to forget about the hardships and problems that hide beneath that beauty. Country life is simple, but not always easy. The rose-colored glasses might make us forget that, once we want to embrace the beauty of country life, we also must embrace its roughness“
This week, Amy challenged us to share the view of countryside where we’ve been visited. It took me a while to figure it out while trying to find some moments I spent at the countryside. When I was looking at my external hard disk, I accidentally opened the photo files when I was in Egypt. I almost forgot about it since I visited the country like many years ago. I decided to look for more, and found some shots showing the other sides of Egypt, beside the mainstream touristic locations. However, if you’re interested to see the amazing pyramids, you are welcome to read it. Or, if you wonder to see the place which was conquered by Alexander the Great, you may visit Alexandria here.
I could not remember the detail location for each photo since most of them were taken through the passing car. May you have a great Sunday, and enjoy the countryside.
I am not really sure if the two photos below could represent the theme. I actually shoot them in Alexandria, the second largest city in Egypt and the major economic centre of the country with its Mediterranean port. But I found them are really interesting, so I could not help sharing with you.
