Images From Van to Tatvan
There were not so many stories to tell during my journey from Van to Tatvan. Apparently, Tatvan was not in my bucket list. Nevertheless I gave a day to see the city where the nearest train station located, since I would love to have train trip experience that recommended by many friends and travelers who traveled to East Turkey. The train itself would go early morning in the next following day. So, I went to Van Bus Station and got the bus ticket to my self. Actually, yesterday, I planned to travel by boat instead of bus. But, after having conversation with receptionist of hotel where I stayed in, I changed my plan due to unpredictable weather preventing the boat running between these two cities.
Along the way, I was amazed with beautiful landscape covered by snow. Sitting at the front seat, it made me able to shoot photos easily from the area we passed. There was no troublous issue during the journey. When we passed military check point, our bus stopped and one military officer came in to check our identity card one by one. I was the only foreigner on the bus, and I was a bit nervous when a military officer asked me to open my bag and checked my belonging. But he treated me so well, even with language barriers. He tried to convince me that there will be no problem and this check is the only routine check that they used to do.
I arrived in Tatvan after having two hours journey. Luckily, the bus dropped me on the road where my hotel is located. I just need to walk for five minute to reach the hotel. After getting rest for an hour, I took a walk to see how the city is. It’s smaller compared to Van. It has main road with many shops around as generally found in the city of Turkey. For more descriptions, kindly check some images below that I took during this journey.
